Testimonials and stories
Lauren Fleiser
"I had the opportunity to restart my career on relocating to the UK. I originally created ELE Hub as a 'proof project'- a way for me to demonstrate to potential employers what I could do. After a few short months, I had tangible evidence that I could lead initiatives, create and launch offerings and events, and build and manage teams in the UK context. These teams were made up of skills-based volunteers, who also used ELE Hub as a way to create career evidence for their CV's. We have now formalised ELE Hub so that you too can gain practical experience, practise your skills, build tangible proof of your abilities, and have accomplishment stories to tell in job interviews to boost your hiring prospects."
Andrew James
"Making a career change can be challenging for professionals who can often feel stuck or unsure how they can make the transition. I've often read career change advice that hasn't really addressed the question of how somebody can evidence the experience that hiring managers ask for. With ELE Hub I've been able to sharpen my skills in various areas such as stakeholder management and various contributions to the experiential learning platform. I would definitely recommend ELE Hub to anyone who's thinking about making a career change, as I don't think there's anything else out there that offers the kind of hands-on experience to develop confidence within a safe and supportive environment that values learning. It's a valuable way to showcase your skills to future employers and to get the confidence that you really need to make that step forward."
Ali Rubai
"Before ELE Hub, my career development lacked structure and the right environment to apply both existing and new skills. I needed an opportunity to develop professionally while gaining relevant experience but struggled to find a provider who understood this challenge. At ELE Hub, I collaborated with teams to develop digital marketing strategies and systems for experiential learning programmes and events. ELE Hub has provided rewarding educational and professional growth through hands-on learning. I helped organise an online event that involved website development, virtual exhibition setup, and social media content creation. This experience enhanced my communication skills, team collaboration abilities, and marketing expertise. The supportive environment and expert educators foster continuous development through meaningful projects, which is especially valuable for career changers. Approach ELE Hub with an open mindset and bring your entire skill set, even abilities you might not consider immediately relevant. The program provides a safe, structured environment where you can apply existing skills while developing new ones through both familiar and innovative tools."

No. Internships are paid entry level roles. Work placements form part of some university degree programmes. Our projects are facilitated and mentored learning-by-doing opportunities: project contributions are entirely optional, there are no set hours, and the outputs you produce can be used for your own career benefit.
How does the Practice Hub work?
As a Practice Hub, we run ongoing projects, some in our own organisation, some in our direct stakeholders' social impact or not-for-profit organisations, and some linked to employers who are looking to pro-actively build talent pipelines through learning-by-doing exercises. Projects are treated as learning exercises. You can make mistakes and learn as you go without any pressure, and with our full support and feedback.
Can participating in the Practice Hub lead to a job?
There is no guarantee that any of our projects or activities will lead to a job or any other form of paid employment. However, you can use the projects to gain hands-on experience, to practise your skills, to create career evidence, to learn-by-doing, to build your confidence levels, and to get noticed.
Can I flex my time on Practice Projects in the Hub?
Yes, the projects are always active regardless of learner inputs. Simply join in and contribute what you can, when you can. Those who contribute more, benefit more as learners.
How does onboarding work?
On joining, you will receive individual attention to be onboarded onto Practice Projects, after which we will be in touch with you regularly through email and non-compulsory meetings as you contribute and practise.
Can I engage in more than one project at a time?
Yes, it is up to you how many projects you choose to engage in.
